We’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of a standout project enhancing the Chick-fil-A location at 4860 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75235. This collaboration, led by Texas Outdoor Shades and Shutters, brought custom bronze-colored exterior shutters to the restaurant’s pavilion, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal in the heart of the bustling Medical District Dallas.

Project Highlights

• Custom Shutters: A single 77" wide (6 ft 5 in) x 76" height (6 ft 4 in) panel, fully assembled with two locking handles, was installed. Featuring a 20° opening and adjustable friction hinges, the shutters allow for field-customized projection, ensuring versatility for Dallas TX’s diverse weather conditions. The rich bronze color adds a warm, distinctive touch to the custom outdoor shades design, enhancing the commercial shutters installation.

• Design Impact: The sleek, bronze louvered shutters complement Chick-fil-A’s iconic brick facade and red signage, adding a modern yet elegant touch to the 44-seat shaded pavilion. Complete with ceiling fans and lighting, this outdoor dining enhancement now offers a welcoming retreat for hospital staff, students, and locals in the North Texas area, showcasing top-tier pavilion design.

• Install Challenge & Solution: During installation, the walkway was found to be closer than originally planned, causing the shutters to project into the sidewalk. Thanks to the adjustable friction hinge design, our team made a simple field adjustment to the stop limit, ensuring the projection no longer interfered with the walkway—a testament to the durability shutters’ adaptability.

• Enhanced Security: Recognizing Chick-fil-A’s closure on Sundays, Texas Outdoor Shades and Shutters spec’d the locking handles to provide added security to the outdoor pavilion, making these security shutters a key feature for the Chick-fil-A renovation project.
